We were called upon to remove old gas fire with 70`s style tiled & wood surround & upgrade it to something more elegant & modern with a multi fuel stove instead of gas & as the rest of the house is being updated inside & out we set about the task with the home owner to come up with Stovax Stockton 5kw stove & Portuguese Limestone Arched Fire Surround.

We removed the old surround, tiled insert in one piece, inserted new concrete lintel once we widened the opening to make a recess for the stove to sit in, then fire boarded the recess, dropped the stainless steel liner, closureplate, gasket, backfilled the liner with insulation pellets, new buff pot & stainless steel cowl. cut & inserted new hearths & pointed, painted closureplate & recess fireboard, fixed Stove in situ & fixed limestone surround to wall securing it & backfilling with plaster adhesive, once set plaster chimney breast to finish off a clean fresh look that looks totally at home here, all paperwork inc data plate & CO detector all completed.
